Michael Richter has been practicing law in California since 1982. He
primarily accepts cases arising in Santa Clara, San Benito, San Mateo,
Monterey, Santa Cruz and Alameda counties although he does accept cases in
other parts of California.
He emphasizes civil personal injury litigation, auto accident litigation and workers compensation. During his 18 years as a litigator, he has
concentrated in the areas of insurance litigation. Over the past 12 years he has worked almost exclusively in the areas of workers' compensation, subrogation, and personal injury civil litigation. He
currently accepts cases in the areas of workers compensation and personal injury.
Mr. Richter acts as a judge pro-tem for the Santa Clara County's Superior Court. He acts as an arbitrator for that court making decisions about
the value of cases. He also works as a mediator in Santa Clara County. He has worked both as an advocate for persons who have been injured and as an attorney for insurance companies, so he understands
both sides of the system thoroughly. He will work for you and fight for your cause while at the same time giving you good, common sense advice on how to get through the long process of healing from your
injury.
Mr. Richter takes cases involving injuries to any portions of the human body, including specifically back, neck, and upper and lower extremity cases
as well as amputations, brain injuries and death cases. Of all these cases, brain injuries, by their very nature, require special care and skill in providing understandable legal care to the injured
individual. It is also important to know how to build a case that will present to the fact finder in vivid, understandable detail, the damages suffered. Too often the catastrophic effects of even mild
brain injuries are not fully presented or compensated because they are not fully understood, by the judge or even by the person who has suffered the injury. The persons suffering these "invisible"
injuries are referred to as the "walking wounded". Mr. Richter fights to make these, and all injuries fully understood and compensated.
Mr. Richter understands the difficulties associated with having an injury at work. He understands how difficult it is to be away from work and
your life during the healing process. He tries to make the difficult process more understandable and livable. He will do all he can to maximize your recovery.
